Voices from Real-Life Experiences

I couldn’t go to the toilet often, which lead to health issues.

The most difficult part of the disaster experience was the toilet situation. Normally, I try to go to the restroom frequently, but due to the limited number of temporary toilets, I had no choice but to hold it in.

At the evacuation shelter, I was constantly aware of others watching, which made me more self-conscious about urinary leakage than usual. As a result, I couldn’t participate actively.

Toilet Accessibility Issues

Evacuation shelter toilets are often limited in number and may include steps or traditional squat-style toilets, making them hard to use. Not everyone can immediately receive and use specialized urinary care products.

Today’s urinary care products come in various types:

• Slim, discreet designs

• Deodorizing types that trap odors

• Gentle options for sensitive skin

It’s important to check available products during normal times and find ones that suit your needs.
