Unicharm Corporation (CEO & President: Mr. Takahisa Takahara) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the “Environmentally Sustainable Company” in the Fifth ESG Finance Awards Japan, sponsored by the Ministry of the Environment.

The 'ESG Finance Awards Japan' is an award established by the Ministry of the Environment in 2019 with the aim of recognizing and promoting the proactive efforts of institutional investors, financial institutions, intermediaries, and companies that have made an impact in ESG finance and green projects.

The efforts to address environmental and social issues, contribute to consumers and local communities, and achieve sustainable business growth through the realization of the medium-to-long-term ESG goals stated in the "Kyo-sei Life Vision 2030 ~ For a Diverse, Inclusive, and Sustainable World ~" announced in 2020 have been recognized. Specifically, our commitment to initiatives such as horizontal recycling of used paper pants (diapers), climate change adaptation, transition to renewable energy, reduction of plastic usage, and biodiversity conservation, and the disclosure of progress made in these areas were acknowledged.

We aim to contribute to the realization of a 'cohesive society' where people of all generations can continue to live 'as themselves' through self-reliance and mutual assistance.
